My Values and Mission
The things I value most are Dignity, Equality, and Opportunity. I believe that these values are most beneficial in the nonprofit world.
My Vision is to provide HIV/AIDS education to youth and their parents to help dispel the stigma that people with this terrible disease are given.
For example as a child I was led to believe that all people with AIDS were very sick people and that even the smallest contact with someone with the illness could transmit it to others. I feel that better education can create a better informed more empathetic society and better care for those who are sick.
The impact I wish to have is to create a safe, interesting, innovative way to educate people about this disease to help them see that they are deserving of the love and affection everyone craves without fear of what others think.

The 4 T's
I plan on spending my time, talent, treasures, and trust working and supporting AIDS outreach organizations wherever I end up living after graduation. I plan on starting here in Auburn volunteering with the Unity Wellness Center beginning in January. I will not only be giving them my time and Talent, but also I plan to start giving at least five dollars a month until I can afford more. Upon securing a better job I will change my giving in accordance with my income.
I want to gain the trust of the organization as well as the community in my philanthropic actions, which will hopefully encourage others to donate to this worthy cause whether through monetary means or time and talents.

Mission
My dream is to see the stigma of people living with HIV/AIDS erased. I want people to understand that they need love , care, and affection like the rest of us, as well as show that those not infected with the disease need not fear those who have it. I will accomplish this goal by partnering with my local outreach program to give of my time, talents, and trust to help with this mission.
Why Being Financially and Philanthropically Responsible is Important
I feel it is important to be financially and Philanthropically responsible because that's what this country was founded on. In the first days of this country there were no banks or other types of economic systems in place. We saw a need and rather than wait for someone else to do it we lent a hand to our fellow man, whether is was building homes, providing education, feeding our neighbors, etc.. it's in our national DNA to be philanthropists. We are all in this together!
My Desires For My Philanthropic Legacy
I want my legacy to be one of a person who has done great things in life, not one of personal gain. I want to be remembered as someone who helped influence people in a positive way, whether it be through educating people on AIDS and its effects on a family or through monetary means. My goal is to leave my community a little better than when I found it!
After I am gone, my hope is that my gifts continue in these ways:
To promote AIDS education to youth and their parents.
