My Name is: Jeff Coffman
My Major is: Interdisciplinary Studies
I am Classified as a: Senior
I Plan to Graduate in: December 2015
My Professional Goal when I Graduate from Auburn:
Upon graduation I would love to work for either an AIDS outreach non-profit or in a Boys and Girls club style non-profit. As far as the AIDS outreach program goes, I feel that my best fit in the program would be working with youths that find out a loved one is dealing with this terrible disease. As a child I found out by that my uncle had AIDS by mistake. I overheard a phone conversation he was having when he revealed he was HIV positive to the person on the other line. I was devastated!! After finding that out I completely shut him out of my life, and while he was in the final days of his life I never once visited him, until it was too late. As far as Boys and Girls club is concerned, I love working with youths, and feel that the education emphasis of my degree would greatly benefit my working with children.
Upon Graduation I plan to live in the Following Cities:
1) Auburn, Alabama
2) Chattanooga, Tennessee
3) Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Who am I?
My name is Jeff Coffman and I am currently a senior at Auburn University. I am 34 years old, have been married for 12 years to my wife Joni, who works at the vet school. I have two wonderful children a girl, Rylee, who is 10 and a son, Caleb, who is 6. I am majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies and my goal is to work for a non-profit.
Where am I from?
I am originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, but moved to Auburn in 1996 with my family so my mother could pursue her masters degree in Spanish. I attended Auburn High School for my Junior and Senior years of high school. I am the oldest of three children, and currently the only one in college.
My Legacy:
I want my legacy to be one of a person who has done great things in life, not one of personal gain. I want to be remembered as someone who helped influence people in a positive way, whether it be through educating people on AIDS and its effects on a family or through monetary means. My goal is to leave my community a little better than when I found it!
